A WEEK of events is planned to celebrate the centenary year of iconic Glasgow artist Hannah Frank.
Fans from all over the world will gather in the Jewish artist’s home city to celebrate her 100th birthday on August 23.
Hannah is widely recognised as the last living link to the Scottish Arts Nouveau movement and the Arts and Crafts period.
Events over seven days will include a coach tour of 'Hannah's Glasgow,' a champagne lunch and exhibition at Glasgow University, and tours of Glasgow School of Art, where she studied in the 1920s.
The artist, who began producing her other-worldly drawings when she was 17, will also be honoured at a centenary reception at the Scottish Parliament on September 23.
Plans are also on course to introduce her work into the art curriculum in Scottish schools.
A book to mark her 100th birthday has been launched and it includes worksheets and ideas for teachers to use in primary and secondary schools.
The artist's family are waiting to find out if they have secured a Scottish Arts Council grant to offer the book at a lower rate to Glasgow schools.
Hannah's niece Fiona Frank, who is organising the events, said: "Everything is coming together.
"My aunt is really excited about it and has promised she will be there.
"I have received so many letters of support from fans from all over the world."
Hannah was born in the Gorbals and was a regular evening student at Glasgow School Of Art.
Her father was a Russian refugee who came to the city in 1905.
From 1927 to 1932, the Glasgow University Magazine rarely came out without a drawing by Al Aaraaf, her pen name.
It is said during the 1960s every city student’s bedsit wall was adorned with a print of her 1920s and 30s drawings.
Celebrity fans include British actress Miriam Margolyes, who starred in films such as Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets and Ladies In Lavender.
Hannah’s work will be on show in Debenhams in the St Enoch Centre from Monday (May 12).
