11/3/2008St Francis Primary FUN TIMES
By John O'Donnell:
On Monday March 10th children from St. Francis Primary School produced an 8 page newspaper with a sports supplement on the school premises. The children were submitting their wonderful work into a competition run by Times Educational Supplement (TES) called Newsday 2008. The main object of the exercise was for the pupils to produce a newspaper containing that day's news therefore experiencing all the pressures a 'real' newspaper would encounter. Additionally, the children would be able to use their IT skills in a purposeful way.
Over the past 8 weeks the Principal Teacher at the school, Mr. O'Donnell, ran an after school supported study to refine the pupils' ICT skills in preparation for the big event.
The newspaper has now been sent off for judging although a copy can be seen in the school foyer and in time on the school's new website www.st-francis-pri.glasgow.sch.uk
John O'Donnell says: This is just the front page of the paper. I know you want to see more so please visit the website link.
